The draft version of the ‘Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Sustainability Plan Version 2’ can be downloaded from the Tokyo 2020 website (link). The finalised plan will be published in June 2018.

2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games has set the Olympic environmental vision called “Green Dream: O2 Plus Winter Games” for the greenest Olympic Games ever from the bid phase. And the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) established the unique and advanced greenhouse gas control system to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions including the advanced greenhouse gas inventory, the reliable and feasible GHG reduction, the offsetting strategy having a high integrity, and the greenhouse gas and environmental management utilizing IT technology. Carbon Responsible Games means that 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games take a full responsibility of total amount of GHG originated from the preparation and operational phase through voluntary GHG reduction and offsetting activities. This will open up new horizons for eco-friendly Olympic Games the first ever in the history.
