“In a public hearing held this Wednesday (14.06) at the Velodrome of the Olympic Park in Barra, Rio de Janeiro, the Governing Authority of the Olympic Legacy (AGLO) presented the legacy plan for the use of the facilities of the Olympic Park, the heart of the Rio 2016 Games, and Deodoro, a region that also received competitions during the mega-event.”

Rio 2016; Barra Olympic Park opens to the public

As of last week, the Via Olímpica in Barra Olympic Park is open to the public on weekdays and public holidays. Facilities and activities include, the Wall of Champions, multi-sport courts, an outdoor gym, a children’s play area and a skate park. In September 2017, Rock in Rio will also take place on this location.

Rio 2016; Autódromo de Jacarepaguá Internacional Nelson Piquet

Yesterday, the Formula 1 Grande Prêmio do Brasil was held at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo.

However, in 1978 and from 1981 to 1989, the Autódromo de Jacarepaguá Internacional Nelson Piquet in Rio de Janeiro hosted the Brazilian Grand Prix. In 2012, the circuit was demolished to make way for Barra Olympic Park.
