The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today published its 2018 Annual Report and financial statements following approval by the Members at the 134th IOC Session in Lausanne.
Addressing the 134th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), President Bach emphasised the enduring power of the Games, how the Olympic ideals define the Olympic Movement, and that the sports community must always strive towards the important mission of maintaining the Olympic values in a fragile world.
Inclusivity, innovation and digital relevance were the key youth-focused themes to be discussed at the 134th IOC Session on the subject of the evolution of the Youth Olympic Games from Buenos Aires 2018 to Lausanne 2020, and on to Dakar 2022.
Breaking, skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing have been provisionally included on the sports programme of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The decision was taken today by the 134th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
In an inspiring message of hope, global climate change leader and member of the IOC Sustainability and Legacy Commission Christiana Figueres addressed the IOC Session today. She stressed the urgency of climate change and the key role the Olympic Movement plays to address it.
Ms Angelita Teo, a national from Singapore, will lead the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage from 1 October 2019, managing The Olympic Museum, the Olympic Studies Centre, International Programmes and Heritage.
Following the final report outlining the successes of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, the Organising Committees for Tokyo 2020, Beijing 2022 and Paris 2024 delivered presentations to the 134th IOC Session on the progress being made for the upcoming Games editions.

In a landmark decision guided by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), natural CO2 refrigeration systems will be used in most of the Beijing 2022 ice venues. This will decrease the overall carbon footprint of the Olympic Games Beijing 2022.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today took yet another step to transform future Olympic Games elections. At its 134th Session in Lausanne, Switzerland, the IOC approved the proposed changes accepted last month by the Executive Board (EB).
The Olympic Games Athens 2004 were considered a “homecoming”: Greece was the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games and host of the inaugural Olympic Games of the modern era in 1896. Despite challenges related to the post-Games use of some of the Olympic venues, the Games did not disappoint their hosts: they created wide-ranging benefits, which the Greek capital enjoys to this day.
The IOC Session today took note of a new set of guiding principles regarding commercial opportunities for participants during the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 which were approved last week by the IOC Executive Board. The Session itself decided on a change to Bye-law 3 of Rule 40 of the Olympic Charter.
The 134th IOC Session elected and Nawal El Moutawakel as new members of the Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The Session also voted for ten new Members, following the proposal of the IOC EB from 22 May 2019.
