PyeongChang 2018; Legacy use found for two temporary venues

The Gangneung Hockey Centre (ice hockey) and the Gangneung Oval (speed skating) will not be demolished after the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang.

The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) has found a legacy tenant for the Gangneung Hockey Centre. (it will become the home base for local hockey clubs) Also, the national team is expected to use the venues as a trainings facility in preparation for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

Both venues were first planned as temporary venues and are currently under construction.
